Australian High Commissioner Philip Green had the pleasure of launching Michelle Chong's new movie 3 Peas in a Pod, along with the film's stars, at the Marina Bay Sands Theatres in Singapore on Monday.

The film, set to be released later in 2013, tells the story of three university friends who go on a road trip in Australia that changes their lives forever. It stars Jae Liew, Calvin Chen and Alexander Lee Eusebio.

Ms Chong, a renowned Singaporean actress, gained notoriety as a director when her debut film, Almost Famous, was selected as the Singaporean entry for the Best Foreign Language Oscar at the 85th Academy Awards. 3 Peas in a Pod is her second film as director.

Mr Green presented Ms Chong and the three stars in attendance with gift packs, generously provided by Tourism Australia, which is supporting the film.

Australia’s world class beauty, natural environment and spectacular ocean scenery were chosen as a backdrop to the movie.

The movie features a story about friendship, love and obsession. Three university students studying in Australia (Penny from Singapore, Perry from Taiwan and Peter from Korea) are good friends whose lives are intertwined. Just before they graduate and return to their respective countries, they decide to go on a road trip that would change their lives forever.

The principle photography takes place in Australia. They journey from Melbourne, where they are studying, to Kangaroo Island in the South of Australia.
