Australian High Commissioner Philip Green delivered the opening speech at the recent Australian Institute of Company Directors Conference in Singapore.

Mr Green addressed more than 500 chairmen, directors and business leaders, who gathered in Singapore for the AICD Conference themed 'Directing in the Asian Century', from 8-11 May.

The discussion included topics such as Singapore as the strategic heart of Asia, defining Asia's rise and the opportunity Australia has to make this our Asian century.

It was the first time the conference had been held in Singapore and the third time it'd been held in Asia.

“This is among the highest number of delegates we have ever had at any of our conferences,” said John Colvin, Chief Executive and Managing Director, Australian Institute of Company Directors.

“The interest that our members have shown in this year’s conference demonstrates that the theme of the Asian Century is one we recognise we need to understand and act upon expediently to secure the future performance of our organisations."
